Question about Heros
while reading these forums i see that some ppl say that 1 hero is better than the other while using the same build.
Like Olias is a better MM and sucks at Curses while Master of Whispers is the opposite. Or Dunkoro is better at healing than Thalkora. Is this kind of info really true? Is one hero really better than the other while using the same build? I would think that they would all have the same AI and it would not matter but was hoping someone would clear it up because if its true i would change all my Master of Whispers from running MM. TY for your time |

AFAIK all heroes have the same AI. So it wouldn't matter if Olias or Whispers is your MM.

When you first get Olias, he's geared as an mm, and Whispers is geared Curses. Dunkoro is initially a healer, and Tahlkora a prot monk. Because of this, it's common belief that those are the best builds to use. However, I've used a MM build on Whispers, and he runs it just as good as Olias. So in reality, there is no real difference between them.

Nope. Theyre all equal. They just come with a weapon suited for the build they came with.

It's been my experience that the hero necs do suck at curses, though. I think this is due to their seeming to cast all their spells on the primary target, rather than spreading them around like a real person would do.

NPCs just aren't good at spreading things around like a real person. (ie. Conditions and Hexes)
They always focus on who you are focusing on unless you use the target button. |

They all have the same AI - if you discount runes and insignias they all make the same Minion Master or whatever build.
This is like "farming code". Many have superstitions about how things work and go with them - they then somewhat spread to others. If it makes you feel better (and thus perform better) to find them different then do so, otherwise they all have the same AI (which is pretty much the official standing - anything else is based on "personal observation" and depends greatly on the person observing). |

My experience shows that not all heroes use the same AI. Go in Junundu wurms with Goren and other heroes. A lot of the time Goren will not cast Junundu Wail, even when his health is below 50%, and all the other heroes are healing themselves.

I have not experienced any difference.
I have all my Dunks as prot and all my Tahlks as healer. All Olias as MM and all Masters as either Curses or Blood, depending on my own character. The reason is simple, I don't have to think about their gear and runes. I know Dunk has the prot runes and prot weapon set and Tahlk has the healing runes and healing set. Same with Olias and Masters. The build is what makes or breaks a hero, not the hero itself. |
